St. Eve’s

"One of the things I like best about the Halloween show is that I change outfits about six times in the show. It is a lot of fun to play the different characters".

Nancy Kerrigan

I wrote this Halloween poem about St. Eve's on October 29, 2002 with my daughter Sabrina in mind.

St. Eve's by Sherri Raftery, M. Ed.

Crispy air, crunchy leaves, fallen,

Darkness sets in,

Full moon above,

Candles flickering in carved pumpkin shells,

Circling around the neighborhood,

Children laughing, ringing, doorbells,

“Trick or Treat”, you hear them say,

Inventive costumes, greeted, and rewarded,

Candy drops, into their bags,

Stillness, darkness,

Ends the festive St. Eve,

Quietly, into the night,

Porch lights

Out…
