no whiz with words" .....

....."UM"... "AH"... "YA KNOW" ...

Read comments and listen to Caroline speak - the daily news

"Caroline has acknowledged that she hasn't mastered the art of the political sound bite, but if Gov. Paterson appoints her, she'll fight her heart out to make sure New York families have their voices heard in Washington." - Spokesman Stefan Friedman

The good news here is that Caroline knows she can get better at public speaking and there are many techiniques and tools to assist her - especially attending Toastmasters meetings.
At Toastmasters we learn to take away those "filler words" such as "Um", "Ah', Ya Know".

One of my filler habit words is "actually". During a meeting we "actually" have an "Ah" and "Um" counter you counts how many times we say these "filler words" to remind us of how we sound.

Other useful tools are tape recorder/audio/video recorders as evidence in the tiny Utube video that allowed us to listen to Caroline speaking skills.

We have room for improving our public speaking skills - Caroline just happened to let the world know that her skills need more polishing right now. AND the world is expecting her to become a better speaker. Many of the politician's who are currently in office could certainly use polishing and Toastmasters is here to help! http://www.toastmasters.org/

"Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, whose childhood is synonymous with a period in American politics both magical and tragic, is seeking Hillary Clinton's Senate seat. Take a look at the Camelot princess, through the years. President John F. Kennedy claps as his four-year-old daughter Caroline and son John F. Kennedy Jr. dance in the Oval Office of the White House in October 1962". "Caroline Kennedy no whiz with words" .....
