AN HONORED GUEST!!
I just received a phone call from THE HOME FOR LITTLE WANDERERS http://www.thehome.org/site/PageServer on the other end were
Scott and Bob they had me on speaker phone. They called to invite me to attend THE HOME’S Annual Fundraiser “VOICES & VISIONS” of created artworks by all the children who currently live at THE HOME.
http://www.thehome.org/site/PageServer?pagename=events_voices_visions
This event is on Wednesday May 28, 2008 - 6:00 PM at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, MASS. There will about 900 people in attendance. The invitation to attend was already exciting enough and then Scott continued ...
“THE HOME chose four Alumni to honor this year and YOU are one of them - we want to recognize YOU for all of your accomplishments”!
...I was/am SPEECHLESS!...I was/am Thankful…I am... “AN HONORED GUEST”!
=====
.....…But as the District 31 Lt. Governor of Marketing I could not let the moment slip by me… I said, “Scott I would love to start a Toastmasters Club at THE HOME”… (stay tuned)

“APPLAUSE” !!” “APPLAUSE”!!
“APPLAUSE” !!” “APPLAUSE”!!
“All of us love applause, and so we should –
it means that the listener likes us”! Emanuel Ax
http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/e/emanuelax357982.html
The Audience has answered back! For our final performance last night the Audience stood up and gave us another Standing Ovation! This was pretty fitting since our Grand Finale number was “APPLAUSE” from the Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical APPLAUSE.
We enjoyed our cast party and have been asked to perform again on March 7, 2008. Many performers are like speakers – we are always looking for our next show/gig. Of course most of us will be able to perform, but some of us will be in other shows or some of us will take a much needed break. As for me personally I will do the March 7th gig but I will be unable to audition for another show for quite awhile.
I am going to be very busy with my Toastmasters District 31 Duties for the next six months. Currently I am serving as the 2007-2008 Lt. Governor of Marketing which covers Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. But it was especially fun to be able to perform in the same show with my child – Sabrina did GREAT!! APPLAUSE APPLAUSE!!
I added this vide clip of the song APPLAUSE (this is NOT from my theatre production but I thought you make get a kick out of it…like I did…

Do you have to put things you like to do on hold for a while too in order to do other things that NEED to get done?
How do you choose which things you will do and which things you will put on hold?
OR is there something(s) that keep(s) you from doing what you REALLY WANT TO DO… family commitments, working hours, travel, time?

The other day I mentioned that as one of my New Years Resolutions I would start sharing a Fact on my BLOG so in keeping with my promise from Fact Monster.com http://www.factmonster.com/dayinhistory
On January 14, 1639 The first constitution of Connecticut, Fundamental Orders, was adopted. http://www.factmonster.com/ce6/history/A0819884.html
And on January 14, 1990 The Simpsons premiered on television.

"COME ALONG AND LISTEN TO...THE LULLABY OF BROADWAY"!!
“COME ALONG AND LISTEN TO…THE LULLABY OF BROADWAY”!!
We opened tonight “FROM BROADWAY TO HOLLYWOOD - A MUSICAL REVUE” with the Theatre Co. of Saugus in Saugus, MA ! http://tcsaugus.home.comcast.net/~tcsaugus/
It was wonderful to open to a FULL HOUSE and to close with a STANDING OVATION! The audience was on its feet clapping…before we were even done bowing during our CURTAIN CALL!
I was sooo proud watching my daughter Sabrina signing and dancing to “You Gott’a Have Heart”, “Beautiful Candy”, “Hard Knock Life”, “Do- Re-Mi”. She really lights up on stage!
I sang and danced in “Lullaby Of Broadway”, “All That Jazz”, “Coffee Break”, “Brotherhood of Man”, “Blow Gabriel Blow”, “Seasons Of Love”, “What I Did For Love” and “Applause Applause”!!

Do you like to perform? Or did you always WANT to perform but were too shy, too scared, or too self-conscious? If you would like to enjoy “STAGE TIME”! I suggest you join a local Theatre Group in your area. I also highly recommend joining a Toastmasters Club http://www.toastmasters.org/ Becoming a Toastmaster member has certainly helped enhance my "Performing Skills" and "Public Speaking Skills"!BUT what I also found even more surprising is that my "Leadership Skills" have emerged!!
I must get to bed - I/We still have three more performances left on Friday, Saturday & Sunday {I will post more on leadership at a another time}.

I REALLY AM A CAPRICORN!!
My Birthday is on January 9th - I am a Capricorn!!
I have been recieving Birthday wishes, emails, cards and invites out to eat. So sweet! THANK YOU FRIENDS & FAMILY!!
I have been looking up Capricorn Characteristics - I really AM a CAPRICORN!!
- Astrologers broadly agree that the following are the characteristics of Capricorn:
The Capricorn person is prudent, responsible, realistic, very wise, formal, patient, methodical, disciplined, traditional, cautious, conventional, hard-working, polite, persevering, ambitious, dedicated, focused, honest, dependable, serious, self-reliant, businesslike, career-oriented, authoritative, conscientious, and competent. They can also sometimes be rigid, suspicious, status-seeking, demanding, insensitive, inhibited, cold, dry, aloof, lack of emotional depth, possessive, self-conscious, materialistic, narrow-minded, vindictive, bitter, lacking hope, melancholy, controlling, harshly critical, restricting, calculating, and saturnine.
Likes- Romance, Loyalty, Feeling secure, Financial/material stability, Ambitious mates, Feeling committed, Making long term relationship plans, Dependability, Reliability, Perseverance.
Dislikes- Flightiness, Being bossed around, Crudeness/coarseness, dominance, Game playing, Ego displays, Extravagance, Being challenged by a lover, Indecisiveness.
Suitable occupations are where responsible, patient and economising qualities can be exercised; such as scientist, engineer, manager, civil servant, mathematician, farmer, builder, politician, director. In medical astrology Capricorn governs the knees and skeleton. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capricorn_(astrology)
ALSO -
Capricorn is a feet-on-the-ground, eye-on-the-prize sign. Those with Sun in Capricorn have a realistic, grounded approach to life that can be seen no matter how dreamy the rest of the birth chart suggests. These people know how to do things, and to get things done.
Comparing Capricorns to their symbol, the goat, brings up some interesting analogies. Solar Capricorns can see into the future, and plan for it. They don't mind taking things slowly, but they absolutely aim to get to the top of the mountain in life! They make their way steadily and sure-footedly; and their strength and singleness of purpose are admirable.
Many Capricorns have mastered the art of making people laugh. Their sense of humor can be of the deadpan variety—they're generally excellent at keeping a straight face. They can be bitingly sarcastic, too. http://www.cafeastrology.com/zodiaccapricorn.html
I always knew that Richard Nixon (1913–1994, 37th United States President) was a January 9th baby but I just found out today that Actor Bob Denver from Gillian's Island was also born on January 9, 1935. http://www.famousbirthdays.com/
====
After looking up CAPRICORNS I really enjoyed reading my Zodiac Sign (!) and by looking up my birthdate - I was also able to discover that Bob Denver also shared a January 9th B-Day - something I didn;t know ALL these years!
So as part of one of my new years resolutions, I have decided that I will find out a new fact (if not daily then weekly) and post on my BLOG - so that I can share it with ALL of you too!
What do you do when you find out a fact that you didn’t know? Do you share the knowledge and pass along to someone else?
So add this to my ZODIAC SIGN - CAPRICORNS like to share their knowledge!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of you who are Capricorns, to All of you who are January Babies and especially to those of you who share my Birthday January 9th!!
Now make a wish and...BLOW OUT THE CANDLES!!

Co Co Key !!
CoCo Key!!
"IF THERE IS MAGIC ON THIS PLANET, IT IS CONTAINED IN WATER.
"Loran Eisley (Anthropologist), The Immense Journey, 1957
Water is MAGICAL and Sabrina and I love everything water! Yesterday we went to the new indoor water park at CoCo Key in Danvers MASS !!
http://www.cocokeysheraton.com/about.htm
"The name "Coco Key", along with the décor and atmosphere, reflects Key West's tropical appeal where the region is known for its constant sunshine, clear seas and welcoming tropical environment. Coco Key Water Resort captures the relaxation of the Keys and the enchantment of the islands". http://www.cocokeywaterresort.com/
What a fan’tabu’lous water park experience. I highly recommend CoCo Key for children and adults of any age. It is connected to the Sheraton Hotel Resort http://www.sheratonferncroftresort.com/ and offered a family friendly atmosphere!
OH and you must try the Lazy River and the PITCH BLACK Water Slide Tunnel – what an exhilarating RRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIDE! You will scream, cry, laugh and wonder when you will see the light of day again on the trip down!
HINT - we went at 4:00 PM on a Thursday and avoided long waits and long lines! The best part…it was indoors and yesterday was sssooo bitter cold outside...but we were sssooo absorbed inside CoCo Key we totally forgot just how cold…until we left the building to get into our car! BBBRRRR!!
=======
This certainly was a fun way for us to DIVE into our 2008 New Year!
I admit to being a BIG KID – but it is especially great to have a 10-year-old daughter to share adventures with! (WOW 10!!)
Do you still act like a big kid?
What are some of the adventures that you enjoy with your children or would like to enjoy with your children?
Make time to be with them before you know it…they will be celebrating another birthday!
BTW – Before I know it I will be celebrating another birthday too (January 9th)!

"FROG POND" - Boston
"FROG POND" - Boston
“Skating was the vessel into which I could pour my heart and soul”. Peggy Fleming
My daughter Sabrina is my vessel that I pour my heart and soul into!
We are nearing the end of 2007 (at least when I began writing this) and I am home with my daughter Sabrina and her friend Autumn who is sleeping over – I am repaying Autumns parents for having Sabrina sleep over their house last night –(parents I know you can relate - wink!).
We will ring in the NEW YEAR tonight and tomorrow January 1, 2008 we will drive into Boston and skate on the Boston Common’s Frog Pond http://www.bostoncommonfrogpond.org/
OK so it is not Rockefeller Center in New York http://www.nyctourist.com/xmas_rockcenter1.htm where I am hoping to take Sabrina skating someday! BUT “FROG POND” - BOSTON is our Rockefeller Plaza and this is one of our favorite annual traditions!
After we skate we will head over to eat at Pizza Regina in the “North End” of Boston – http://www.polcaris.com/pizzeriaregina.htm where my father took me and my siblings when we were children and where my father’s mother took him and his siblings when they were children.
What VESSEL do YOU use to pour your heart and soul into? Let this be the year that you discover what your PASSION is and make a commitment to navigate in that direction.
Will you glide into your passion or will you slip, fall and quit?
MAKE 2008…GREAT!!
